NARS Laguna Bronzer

A picture of NARS Laguna Bronzer
This, is a very special post.
This, is a very special bronzer.
This, is my very first NARS purchase...

And boy oh boy did I struggle to part with those £25 little gold coins. Ok, I fib. I paid on card but still, it's all the same, right? I mean really, TWENTY-FIVE-POUNDS. That's a whole lotta dollar. More than I have ever parted with for a beauty item before. Ever. That's the same as a new piercing! But alas, as you may have guessed, part with my (not very) hard earned (ok not at all) cash I did.

When out shopping with my lovely bestie Hayley, we realised we actually had a Space NK in Nottingham. What is actually really bad about this is I realised I had walked past this little wonder store on the way to my tattooist's old studio a hundred gazillion billion times! I couldn't believe it had always been there, in plain view, and I had never realised nor gone in! So when we realised that we had own very own Space NK, we just had to go in and I am so glad I did. I have to admit, the staff at the Nottingham branch of Space NK are possibly some of the most friendly, helpful, polite and cheerful staff I have ever come across. They were so helpful, gave me tons of samples (which I thoroughly enjoyed using) and really made it a very special purchase. If you live in or around Nottingham, definitely pay them a visit!

NARS Laguna was not my first choice. I went in (and had spent the entire day also traipsing around Nottingham) in the search for a matte bronzer which was just that little bit more special than the bronzers I am used to using. Originally when I swatched the three available bronze shades from NARS, I wanted Casino. Which is a shade darker than Laguna. But the lovely sales lady directed me towards Laguna telling me it was more suited to my skin tone and complexion and assured me I wouldn't regret purchasing it. And I haven't.

"NARS Laguna is a diffused powder with golden shimmer to create an all-over warmth for the entire face. It creates a natural looking glow which enhances or creates the look of tanned skin."

Now, personally, I view this bronzer as a matte bronzer. The golden shimmer which is advertised in the product, to me, is non-existent. Not once when using this have I noticed a shimmer, which is exactly how I like it because after searching through every brand, both high-street and high-end, and not finding anything matte whatsoever, this is the closest to what I was looking for. And it's perfect. Bloody amazingly rave-about-product perfect.

This is the best bronzer I have ever used. And that is no exaggeration. I am in love. Utterly, head over heels, in love. This bronzer has actually changed me. It has made me realise that before I was using a far too heavy-handed approach to applying bronzer. I apply less, look better, feel more confident, and best of all? I have perfected what is ~for me~ the perfect contouring with this. This may be my most expensive beauty product yet, but it is also hands down, my most loved, cherished and best beauty product, too.

  3. That's the most in-depth review I've seen of Laguna, thanks :) I was always a bit scared of it before! I'm in love with the Body Shop's bronzer, which is also matte and not orangey at all on my pale skin! xxx
