Ok, I know. It is now the middle of July. And this is a June beauty subscription box. So let me explain... Emails were sent out to all Joliebox subscribers on June 19th, saying the boxes had been dispatched. Joliebox is usually very quick at arriving, but after a few days, people started to ask, "Where is my box?!". And so began a two week battle between customers, Joliebox and Royal Mail. There had been an issue with the packaging labels not scanning, so Royal Mail wouldn't send them, instead returning them to the main post depot to be resorted. The only issue with this other than the boxes taking an insanely long time to reach their owners, was that when Royal Mail sorted them, they re-labelled them. With different names and addresses. This meant that the very first Joliebox to be catered to each customers needs and skin types using the new beauty profiles, would not be the boxes they received. Considering this box was to be all skincare based, this really wound me up. I didn't see the need for Royal Mail to change the labels (well, the names and addresses, anyway) But anyway, after three long, impatient weeks, my Joliebox finally arrived. And surprise, surprise, the name and address underneath my label, was not for me. Therefore, the products inside were not catered to my skin type. I had received a box for dry/normal skin, whereas I have oily skin. But, I managed to arrange a swap for the full size product (and the product worth the most) with a lovely girl called Emma who had received one for oily skin but had dry skin! We both had to pay more than £3 to post each other the correct product, which infuriated me. But I wanted to try the product and using one which wasn't for my skin type, wasn't going to work. Anyway. now that that has finally arrived, I could take the photographs and make this post for you!
June marked the 1st birthday of Joliebox (Happy birthday Joliebox!!) and there were two designs of box you could receive. I received the orange box, which is the one I favoured when I saw the two designs as I love bold colours that stand out! The June box contains an exciting collection of French products, four skincare products and one make up products, with an extra Joliebox nail file as a bonus. Here's what I got in my box...
L'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream
"Made with organic angelica from the Drome region of France, the fresh and silky smooth Angelica Hydration Cream efficiently moisturises and revitalises the skin. L'Occitane's patented angelica complex reinforces natural skin hydration by stimulating aquaporines, improves skin elasticity and protects from free radicals. Skin is plumped, smoothed and more radiant. Ideal for dry to normal skin, dermatologically tested and non-comedogenic."
I love L'Occitane but I don't get to try their products very often due to a lack of pennies. Although this is for dry to normal skin (as far as I am aware, the only one sent out in all boxes) I am excited to try it before bed to see how it works and will use it whenever my skin is (rarely) feeling like it needs a bit of moisture! I received a 15ml sample of this.
Full Size: 50ml £29
Discovery product - Elysambre Lipstick
"This product features all-natural active ingredients. Apply to lips for a splash of colour that also protects and moisturises with excellent hold."
At first I thought the shade of this lipstick really wasn't to my liking but once swatched, the colour is actually really nice. A deep, warm brown with red tones running through. I received a 3.5g sample of this product. Unfortunately, I cannot find any information on the cost of a full sized version.
Volumizing Shampoo with Algae Extract
"This shampoo will add strength, volume and body to thin and limp hair. The detangling effect eliminates the need to use a conditioner, which often has a weighing-down effect on this type of hair."
I have exactly the type of hair this product is for so I was thrilled to see it in the box and look forward to using it! I received a 50ml sample of this product.
Full size: 200ml 29 Euros
Institut Esthederm Bronz Repair Normal or Strong Sun
"For all women and men with tolerant skin, who can and wish to safely tan without developing wrinkles. An anti-wrinkle tanning lotion."
I've not got any wrinkles yet, but anything to prevent them is always great! We have rubbish weather in England right now but once the sun is out and shining, I will be trying this out! I received a 20ml sample of this product.
Full size: 150ml £55
Yonka Paris Pamplemousse Protect and Vitalizing Face Cream
"Available in two versions, this lightweight cream endowed with a splendid scent of citrus fruit alleviates dullness. It enlivens and brightens, protects from environmental aggression's and helps regulate the moisture level. The higher concentration of fruit extracts in the normal/oily version works to tighten the pores."
This is the product which I had to arrange a swap for as I originally received the one for dry/normal skin types. I really like the packaging of this, it looks and feels extravagant! I am excited by the fact that the oily/normal version works towards tightening pores, as I have a real issue with my pores! I received a full size version of this product.
Full size: 50ml £58.95
So all in all, I really liked this Joliebox. I am a skincare junkie so I was thrilled to receive four skincare products, and who doesn't love a lipstick? I can't wait to get using everything and I will of course post individual reviews, too. Did you receive the birthday Joliebox? What did you get in yours?
