Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion

Every one loves a tan, right? A natural glow to make us look and feel more confident. Well, I am a little lucky. My family originate from Cyprus and I have inherited a natural tan. But that doesn't mean I don't crave a glowing tan too! When every one else starts to get that little bit tanned, I start to feel white as a ghost! I try and get in the sun to tan as and when I can, but with the weather we've had in Britain this summer, no natural tan can be found!

So instead, I have turned to tanning lotions. This particular one was suggested to me by my friend Hayley who runs Wife Life Beauty xo. So I picked it up and thought it was worth at least giving a go! I've been using this almost every day now for around 3 weeks and so I think it's time I reviewed it!

The Garnier Summer Body Tanning Moisturiser boasts that it gradually builds a natural and sun-kissed looking tan, as well as providing 12 hours of moisturising properties to your skin. This isn't just a summer product - it can be used all year round!

I apply this when I get out of the shower, and it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and moisturised all day. It does have that familiar tanning lotion scent to it, but it's not overpowering and I actually quite like the scent! (OK, I like it a lot!) It definitely gives me a natural looking tan and I have loved using this, and it's lasting forever, too!

There is one downside to this, although there is only one! And that is that no matter how much I exfoliate before use, this leaves a slight orange tan look to my feet! But with that being the only downside, overall this is a winning product for me!

Have you tried this? Do you have any recommendations for other tanning moisturisers? Let me know!

  1. I've been wondering about this product actually! I'm extremely white and wouldn't mind getting a little bit of a tan, so I was thinking a gradual moisturiser might be the way to go! This looks promising :)
    Great review xx

    1. I apply LOTS! And make sure I get every single bit of my body, massaging it in until it is completely soaked in! Also, always exfoliate thoroughly first! xo

  3. i realllly want to try this - great review! shame about orangey feet though, have you thought about mixing it with another moisturiser when using it on your feet, to try to dilute it a bit or something maybe?

    1. No I haven't, I wouldn't use anything on my face that wasn't for the face and this is just for the body xo

  10. Hi, a couple of years ago i went through a gradual tanning phase, i used the garnier gradual tanning lotion but was disappointed by the results, it seemed to work just fine on my arms but turned my knees and ankles bright orange while leaving the rest of my legs pasty white! after reading this i might just have to try it again! i am pretty new to blogging and my sister (brighton-girl.blogspot.co.uk) recommended your blog to me and i must say i love it!
