To The Moon and Back by Jill Mansell

A picture of To The Moon and Back by Jill Mansell

Jill Mansell has been my favourite female author for many years now. The first of her books that I came across was 'An Offer You Can't Refuse'. I had never read a book by her before nor did I have any idea who she was. I bought the book, went home and started to read it. And I didn't stop. I stayed up until the early hours of the morning reading it cover to cover. And ever since then, for the past five years, she has been my favourite female author.

Like all of Jill's books, To The Moon and Back starts off with the characters experiencing some difficult times in their life. In this book we follow the story of Ellie, who loses her husband Jamie in an unfortunate car accident. The story follows Ellie as she overcomes her grief, meets new men, finds that they are not the right one for her, until third time lucky, she realises Zack, her boss, is the perfect 10. I'm not going to lie, much with all the romantic leading men in Jill's books, I found myself with a right crush on Zack! I think if the World had men like Jill portrayed, we'd all be happy ladies!!

Along the way we get to know many characters well. Tony, her father-in-law to her late husband, Zack, her new boss and Roo, her new neighbour who becomes her closest friend. Like all of Jill's books you become entranced by the story, falling in love with each character and throughout, wishing for that happy ending. And I think that's what I love most about Jill's books; there is always a happy ending. I really do recommend Jill's books to anyone who likes fairytale endings with a realistic twist.

  2. Yay another blogger doing book reviews, I did my first one only last week :)

I have never tried Jill Mansell, I guess the closest I have got is Cecilia Ahern which to be honest I didn't find that great. This sounds quite a nice light chill out read so I might have a look and see if I can pick it up somewhere.

    Lovely review :)
