Bioderma Sebium H20 Micelle Solution

Bioderma has been a much talked about - and raved about - product on the beauty blogging scene for a long time now. At first, I didn't see the appeal. A cleansing and purifying lotion that people claimed was the miracle worker make up remover. But to me, all I could see was a pretty bottle worth over £10 which was impossible to get hold of in the UK as it is a French skincare brand and only available on eBay. So of course, this meant I had to buy it and try it out for myself, just to see what all this blogging fuss was about....

"Bioderma innovation, Sebium H20 gently cleanses the skin without drying it, through the micro-emulsion of impurities and excess sebum.
Enriched with purifying active ingredients, Sebium H20 cleanses the epidermis in depth and regulates secretion of sebum. The patented sebo-correcting complex, Fluidactiv normalises sebum quality.
Sebium H20 quarantees excellent cutaneous and ocular tolerance.
Sebium H20 is non-comegogenic"

For those like me who aren't a whizz-kid with technical wording, this basically means the the Bioderma Sebium H20 for oily and combination skin works to cleanse and purify the skin whilst creating a more harmonious sebum release of your skin.

Now, when this arrived I thought to myself "I'm going to use this and I'm going to be wowed and amazed and this will become the best, most amazing product I have ever, ever laid my hands on." Well, it wasn't.

Yes, it feels nice when you use it. Yes, it removes make up well and yes, I have been using this on a daily basis and it has replaced my past-favourite make up remover. But I don't think this is the miracle product that everyone raves about. I've been using this morning and night as the first step in my skin care routine. It's light, it's refreshing and it leaves my skin feeling nice too. And yes, if I am honest I probably would repurchase it purely because I am now so used to it. But I don't think this is the miracle product that every one raves about and after 6 weeks of using it, I am still waiting for that moment when I am wowed...

  1. I just bought the Ceraline one when I was in Paris. I used it for the first time yesterday! I liked it but I agree that it doesn't do anything magical but it is great for removing makeup really well :-) By the way I just have to tell you how much I love the structure of your blog. The posts always look so nice :-) xo

  2. I have combination skin and this product absolutely destroyed it. It left my skin sore, dry and painful! I hope it works better for you!

    1. Maybe your skin is more sensitive than oily/combination which is what this one is for? The other one, the pink bottle, is for sensitive skin! It works well for me! xo

  3. I don't think extremely hyped up products can ever meet the expectations you set. I never even bother buying hyped products.

    1. It is a very big, strange bottle. It definitely looks out of place against my other skincare products... xo

  5. I didn't really want to buy this and wait for delivery etc so I bought no7 cleansing water and that works just fine; it's much better than my previous cleanser! I think I'll stick with that for a while! Xo

  8. I too have wanted to try it but being in the US I can find a good enough reason justifying an eBay purchase for it. That being said if you're ever in the US I recommend the Sonia Kashuk eye makeup remover. I use it both for eyes and entire face. AMAZING. <3
