E.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set

A picture of E.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set
The E.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set is actually something I bought before Christmas, but never opened or used until very recently. I bought it on a whim when doing a stock up order on some of my favourite E.l.f. products. I'd never tried a makeup setting spray so I thought, why not?

So the past couple of weeks I have been using this each time I've applied my make up. Once all of my makeup is applied as I like it, I spray this from around 10-15cm's away from my face. It took some getting used to, as I never spray anything on my face and at first it made me jump like nobody's business!

"Keep your makeup in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold. The invigorating mist moisturizes and soothes the skin with key ingredients Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. The lightweight, comfortable and alcohol free formula improves makeup wearability and prevents color from running or fading. Spray on after makeup application to set makeup in place or during the day for a quick touchup to refresh. After you have applied your makeup spray a light mist 12-16 inches from your face with eyes closed to set your makeup in place or use for a quick touchup throughout the day to refresh your makeup. Let it dry naturally or blot with a tissue to help speed dry."

As well as using this just after applying my makeup, I do occasionally use it throughout the day if I feel my makeup is looking a little cakey or powdery. So what do I think to this marvel little bottle? Well, at first I was unsure. I guess I had read one too many reviews on various other setting sprays that made me expect amazing things. But after a while I have grown to like this more and more. It does what it is meant to do. And when a product does it's job, well, you can't complain really, can you?

I am interested to hear your thoughts on setting sprays. Do you use this one? Do you like it? What setting spray would you recommend?

  4. I've never tried this, but I've heard pretty good reviews from lots of blogs. I kinda just thought it would be like putting water all over your face? ha. But Mac Fix+ and Urban decay also sell setting sprays so maybe I'll try this elf one first! :)

  10. I wanted to try this one but somebody told me it smells ultra bad... not that I really care about that though. I ended up getting a more local brand here in Australia which ended up smelling gorgeous so all ended well :P
But I may give this one a go when I use up my current one!

  11. I dont really bother with setting sprays. The most I'll do is a fine mist of Caudalies Beauty Elixir if I'm having a bad skin day and my foundation isnt looking too good. It doesnt make my make up last any longer but as you said, it helps if you're base is looking a bit cakey.

  14. I sometimes use the vit e mist from The Body Shop and that's really good.. but I often strangely spray harispray on my face! It's a bit dodgy incase you open your eyes too soon but it does work if you're going on a night out and don't want to sweat your make-up off! This one looks nice though I might try it out!
