Philip B Drop Dead Straightening Balm

A picture of Philip B Drop Dead Straightening Balm

When I got this in my April Glossybox I was so excited! I don't use many styling products because my hair is generally quite oily, so I was excited to try this one out!

Philip B Drop Dead Straightening Balm
"Philip B Drop Dead straightening balm is a non-greasy, silicone-free water-soluble styling aid that gives curly or wavy hair a straight, tangle-free, and sleek finish."
Yet again, a product I was excited about! I received a 15ml sample of this product. I'm excited about this because my hair is naturally curvy/wavy and I straighten it every day but I never use any straightening products because my hair is naturally very oily and I find adding products to my hair spends up the process of making me look gross! So I'm excited by the description of this and will be trying it out this afternoon!
Full size: 178ml £17

I have to admit, the product does do what it says. My hair dries almost perfectly straight and it feels lovely. But...

After using this product, each time I have noticed my scalp feels irritated and itchy. It's definitely the product as it only happens when I have used this! So this isn't one for me and I am too scared to finish off the tube in fear of what it will do to my scalp!

Did you receive this in your glossy box? What did you think to it?

  1. Such a shame it irritated your scalp, it sounds like a good product otherwise. xx

  2. I received this sample too, but my hair is straight, so I am not sure if I should use it. I will probably try it before I style my hair for a sleek finish :)

  6. Oh no, that's too bad it does that to your scalp. I wonder if some more people have experienced that.
