The perfect end to the Uni year

A picture of Middlesex University
At last, I have finally finished my exams, which also means I have finished my second year of University ~breathes a sigh of relief~ I study Psychology BSc at a North London University. The only thing which makes my University experience a little different is that I don't live in London. I did during my first year and just found I was really unhappy and it didn't agree with me. So for the entirety of my second year I have been commuting from home, in Nottingham.

It's been tiring at times, but mostly very manageable. And I'm proud of myself for doing it because at the beginning of the year so many of my lecturers said I wouldn't be able to do it. And I did. So, so long as I don't have to do any resits in July (which I realise is a possibility, I find out exam results in June) then I have now finished my second year! Hurrah!!

To celebrate finishing my second year, and to celebrate the birthday of my bestie which was on Wednesday, we spent yesterday in Nottingham doing a little shopping spree. Hayley had some vouchers she wanted to spend, we wanted to check out the Clinque mascara swap offer and there were a few things I wanted, but mainly, it was going to be treating myself. This bus, which is a London bus, was outside the Town Hall. Someone had hired it for their wedding. Which I thought was really cool and different! We also stopped off at Pret a Manger for a little drink and cake break.

We got a lot done, indulging in 3 for 2 offers in both Boots and Superdrug. I also lost my Nars virginity, indulged in another new MAC lipstick and treated myself to a new perfume! I will be sharing all in a haul post which you can expect over the next few days! Unfortunately, when we got to the Clinque stand in Debenhams they had discontinued their mascara swap offer because they had run out. We were both really gutted, and personally I felt that if you were running an offer and it had not yet reached the end date, you should ensure you have enough stock to last you through. I guess I never will get to try a Clinque mascara. But, exams have been really stressful and it was just a really lovely way to unwind and relax without worrying about this revision, or that exam.

After our lovely and long day of shopping til we were ready to drop, Hayley dropped me off at my boyfriend's. Then we headed over to my brother's with my dad, to see my nephew Oscar, and to have a fish and chip shop dinner! I hadn't seen Oscar since his birthday three weeks ago so it was so lovely to see him. As usual he really took to my boyfriend and I spent most of the time tickling him. He's picked up a bad habit though, can you tell what it is?

I am so glad that Uni is over for another year. I have a few things to look forward to over the summer, and a mountain of books to read til my heart's content. I hope everyone else who has been doing their exams has done well, good luck with remaining exams and your results, and I hope you all have a wonderful summer!

  8. Congrats on finishing your second year! I've just finished my final one, it's definitely anti-climatic. :(. It's weird thinking come September I won't be moving back here! I'm really surprised you commute from Notts though - did you find it affected your social life at uni at all? xx

    1. If I'm honest, I don't have a 'social life' at Uni. I kind of never tried to have one or wanted one. I'm 24 this summer, so a lot older than a lot of people on my course. I'm also not a big drinker and have grown out of going out all the time! I have a lot of friends at Uni though, but we stick to meals out for catching up :) Plus my Uni is actually horrendous on the social side of things anyway! xo

  9. You must be very relieved. I remember the feeling, when I was done at uni, oh... one of the best feelings ever, even though I loved the people in my year and we spent a lot of time together :)

PS. Your nephew is such a cutie! x
